FPA recently received the Metropolitan Builders Association Engineering Award for Best Stormwater Management Design for “Landing Recreation Complex”.
FPA performed the site design, survey, geotechnical, and permitting services for a project known as Landing Road Recreational Complex in the Township of Roxbury, New Jersey. The project includes the construction of 3 softball fields and recreational complex on an undeveloped former dump site. The three fields are arranged in a pinwheel fashion, with over 200 stall parking lot, concession stands, bathrooms, bleachers, destination playground, and walking paths. The softball fields all include field lighting to allow for night games on these sod fields. The site was comprised of wetland pockets and has a channel which passed through the site. The permitting included the elimination of the wetlands, and the piping of the open channel. We worked with NJDEP to permit these wetland and buffer impacts. Because the project is located on a former dump site, the existing soils required an environmental cap of the site to separate the end users of the property from the underlying soils. FPA provided the design of the environmental cap system.
