FPA was retained by Turtle Back Zoo Zoological Society to develop an aerial adventure course. The aerial adventure course consisted of two courses with a total of 24 games ranging from crossing a wood plank bridge without handrails to walking across a tight rope cable. At the end of each course there is a visitors’ zip down to ground. Visitors are attached to a continuous belay system that takes them from game one to game twenty-four, without the visitor having to detach at any point. The height of the game varies from 10’ to 40’ in the air.
In addition to the aerial course, FPA provided an ADA compliant walkway up to the first game, incorporated a rustic sales shed, identified the location of the perimeter fence, added to entry gate, provided ADA compliant walkways and installed a large amount of landscaping along the perimeter of the project.
FPA’s involvement was site design, landscape architecture, structural design, electrical design and construction observation.
