The Center for Arts and Planning is the cornerstone of New Brunswick’s government district redevelopment program and anchors Rutgers in the city’s business and cultural center. FPA performed a subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation in connection with this Center. The building included a two level below-grade parking garage with a six-story educational building above. The scope of work included a program of subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, and the development of geotechnical engineering recommendations towards the design and construction of the facility. Our design services also included surveying an entire block in downtown New Brunswick, preparation of minor subdivision maps, preparation of demolition and asbestos removal plans. Construction Phase services included full-time technical observation during demolition of existing structures and the construction of new improvements.
