FPA was retained to perform a Regular Inspection of DeVoe Lake Dam. Our staff examined the embankment dams and dikes, including the upstream and downstream slopes, abutments, and toe area. The firm also inspected the facility’s spillway and outlet works, including the spillway crest, wingwalls, downstream apron, stilling basin, and exit channels. The dam was found to be in good condition, with minor maintenance work required.

Located in Spotswood, New Jersey, the DeVoe Lake Dam impounds water from the Manalapan Brook to create a recreational pond. The Borough of Spotswood retained FPA to conduct a regular inspection of this Class I (high hazard) dam, which has a 110-foot-long, 14.4 feet foot high concrete spillway.
