FPA provided professional engineering and landscape architecture design services for Huddy Park in Toms River. Our design services included the rehabilitation of the existing bulk head and the land area within the park. We incorporated a walking path within the heart of the park and created lateral paths that connect to the three-gazebo band stand and the single gazebo on the south side. The walkways were stamped with a boardwalk pattern and a random stone pattern. New ornamental benches and trash receptacles were installed to enhance the beauty of park. New nautical themed light fixtures were placed along all the walkways to allow the Township to have night time activities at Huddy Park. Because of the historic significance of the park, 8-foot-tall, stainless steel, revolutionary soldier silhouettes were installed at all the entrances to the park. The main entrance received 3 soldier silhouettes which are illuminated at night with color LED lights. The Township has the opportunity to select the colors that match the holiday or season. New decorative signage was installed at the entry to invite visitors to the park. A wide variety of deciduous trees, evergreen trees, shrubs and perennials were installed to compliment the specific locations within the park. In the main lawn area, existing overgrown landscaping was removed to allow the Township to host concerts at the three-gazebo band stand. The gazebos were rehabilitated with standing seamed roofs and a fresh coat of paint.

Additionally, the Township requested the perimeter of the adjacent parking area to be enhanced with a new announcement board and landscaping. To bring attention to the announcement board, a town crier silhouette was installed and is illuminated at night with color controlled LED fixtures.
