Jackson Township retained FPA to design and prepare construction documents for the Justice Complex Athletic Fields. The athletic fields consisted of two multi-purpose fields and two Little League fields. The fields were designed with a .5 percent to 1 percent slope. The first multi-purpose field was designed within an existing bleacher system. The field was designed for football, boy’s Lacrosse, and soccer. The improvements consisted of a new synthetic turf with associated logos, four-foot high perimeter fence, player benches, and a new wireless scoreboard. The second multi-purpose field was designed as a tournament size soccer field with two miniature soccer fields running across the tournament size field. The improvements consisted of synthetic turf field, perimeter fence, two ADA-compliant elevated bleachers, announcer’s booth, associated sidewalks, and a wireless scoreboard.
The two little league fields were designed with a 200-foot foul line. The fields were surrounded with a four-to-six foot high perimeter fence. The field improvements consisted of new player benches, spectator aluminum bleacher, synthetic turf field, a covered dugout, foul poles, yellow fence capping, wireless scoreboards, and athletic field lighting. The fields had to meet current stormwater regulations set forth by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. FPA provided project management, landscape architecture, land development, geotechnical engineering, and field services to complete this project.
