FPA was retained by Morris County to provide the necessary engineering services for the replacement of an existing brick arch and drainage system from Searing Avenue to Western Avenue in the Township of Morris, Morris County, New Jersey. The project is completed and included the removal of the existing brick arch and drainage system; the construction of a new single span precast concrete box culvert, with cut-off wall founded upon a 12” thick coarse aggregate layer, a cast-in-place concrete headwall and parapet with stone facing and cap, temporary cofferdam with dewatering, and the installation of an 8” CIP gravity sewer main. The work also involved the reconstruction of the approach roadways including storm sewers, utility relocations, sidewalks, curbs, beam guide rail, Quadguard Impact Attenuators, driveways, bituminous concrete pavement, the establishment of a temporary detour route and the milling and overlay of Western Avenue from Searing Avenue to Locust Avenue and other incidental and necessary work shown on the Construction Plans.
FPA prepared the required contract plans and specifications in accordance with Morris County standards and also performed the Construction Engineering Support Services for the project. The plans included construction plans, topographic maps, grading plans, soil erosion and sediment control plans, profiles, cross-sections and typical sections. FPA also prepared NJDEP and Soil Erosion permit applications.
