FPA was retained by Middlesex County Utilities Authority to provide project management, structural, site/civil, surveying, MEP, and geotechnical engineering design services. FPA prepared the design of a new 10,500 square foot Welding/Storage Shop Building which was joined to an existing Equipment/Maintenance Building. The new building was needed to provide additional space for utilities and grounds maintenance equipment. Our scope of services included building design, foundation investigation and design, and site plan, grading, and drainage design for leachate conveyance control. The pile supported slab and building were designed with six truck bays, four jib cranes, an overhead crane, and two mezzanine areas.  New utility service tie-ins were required because the new addition footprint prohibited the use of the original service points.  The MEP design minimized interference with the operation of the existing facility during construction.  This project is a good example of our full-service engineering capacities used to develop a structure which is both functional and valued by our client.
