Jersey City Project Wins ACECNJ Grand Honor Award
On Wednesday, March 13th, our team received the ACECNJ Grand Honor Award for the Central Avenue Streetscape Project in Jersey City, NJ. A big congratulations to the FPA Team for their hard work, especially William Masol, Charles LaPlaca, and Michael Carangui. It was an honor for our team to receive this award alongside representatives from Jersey City, including Ward D Councilman Yousef Saleh, Director of Engineering Paul Russo, and two members of their engineering team, Billy Carroll and Vipul Patel.
FPA led a transformative two-year, nearly $4 million streetscape improvement project in Jersey City’s Heights neighborhood. Faced with pandemic disruptions and unexpected challenges, the project aimed to rejuvenate the urban landscape, funded by the City’s Capital Budget and NJDOT Municipal Aid Program. FPA’s comprehensive efforts included road resurfacing, new signage, bicycle-friendly features, drainage enhancements, ADA-compliant sidewalks, and aesthetic additions. Collaboration with stakeholders, including CASID, played a crucial role. Overcoming COVID-related supply constraints and structural surprises, FPA’s innovative solutions ensured a remarkable revitalization aligned with the community’s vision, despite unprecedented hurdles.
