This annual recognition highlights the vital role land surveyors play in shaping our communities, supporting infrastructure, and protecting property rights. The 2026 theme is “Celebrating 250 Years of Mapping America,” which honors the profession’s deep connection to the history and development of the United States.
Surveying has been essential to the nation’s growth since its earliest days, laying the groundwork for establishing property boundaries, transportation routes, and communities across the country. Today, surveyors continue to provide critical data that supports responsible development, infrastructure improvements, and land management.
