Interns at FPA: William Kobberger
In recognition of National Intern Day, we’re highlighting some of the students currently in the Internship Program at French & Parrello Associates (FPA). National Intern Day, held on July 25th this year, is used as an opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the future leaders of our world. Through this spotlight series, we mean to highlight our appreciation for the Interns at FPA and all the hard work they do.
The following is a Q&A with William Kobberger, an Intern in the Mechanical Engineering Department at FPA. William currently attends The University of Vermont as a Mechanical Engineering student. He will be entering his senior year this Fall.
What has been your greatest takeaway during your internship at FPA, so far?
The industry knowledge I have acquired during my time at FPA has been indispensable. I have learned so much about HVAC and mechanical design from my site visits, design work, and conversations with fellow mechanical engineers.
What would you say is the best thing about interning at FPA?
The quality of the work I have been exposed to is outstanding. I have been given numerous opportunities to work in the eld and work on real, ongoing projects. The feedback I have received has been crucial, and I feel that my time at FPA has made me both prepared and excited to join the work force.
What career path do you hope to take after graduation?
I hope to continue pursuing a career in engineering consulting. While I would love to continue working in HVAC, I am very open to working anywhere in the world of engineering.
One thing that has always stuck with me since the beginning is the desire to create a positive impact on the world with my work. As an avid outdoorsman, I am very passionate about the idea of pursuing projects that positively affect the environment as well as people’s lives.
