Kiera Nissen, PhD Published in ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering
Kiera Nissen, PhD, PE, Project Engineer in French & Parrello Associates’ (FPA) Civil/Site Department, recently co-authored an article that was published in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Hydrologic Engineering. The article, titled “Influence of Volumetric Water Content Sensor Configuration in Evaluating Bioretention Planter Retention and Evapotranspiration,” was officially published online on August 7, 2025, and is available in the ASCE Library. It will be published in print on October 1st, 2025. The article evaluates how different configurations of volumetric water content sensors influence the measurement of water retention and evapotranspiration in bioretention planters.
This is an incredible professional milestone for Kiera, and a reflection of her dedication to advancing innovative and sustainable engineering practices. Having research accepted and published in a peer-reviewed ASCE journal is a notable accomplishment within the engineering field.
We are proud to celebrate Kiera’s achievement, and her continued contributions to FPA and the broader engineering community.
