The Venice Lagoon Bridge Replacement project delivered a durable, resilient new structure that restores the only access route between Atlantic City’s Venice Park Island community and the mainland. The new five-span bridge replaced a structurally deficient structure with a modern, low-maintenance solution tailored to a challenging coastal environment. The project balanced innovation, constructability, and environmental sensitivity while maintaining continuous access throughout construction, ultimately enhancing safety, multimodal connectivity, and long-term reliability for residents, visitors, and emergency services, delivering lasting benefits to the Venice Park community and earning top recognition with an ACECNJ Engineering Excellence Honor Award.
