Joseph Strafaci Appointed to Transportation Research Board Committee

We are proud to announce that Joseph R. Strafaci, PhD, PE, Regional Manager, New England at FPA, has been appointed as a Committee Member with the Transportation Research Board (TRB), a program unit of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Dr. Strafaci will serve on the Standing Committee on Management, Maintenance and Preservation of Bridges and Structures, with a term beginning August 16, 2025, and concluding April 14, 2028. 

This committee is focused on advancing research and innovation in the systems, strategies, and practices used for the management, maintenance, rehabilitation, and preservation of highway bridges and structures – an area of critical importance to public safety and infrastructure longevity. 

As a TRB committee member, Dr. Strafaci joins a distinguished body of professionals who provide independent, objective expertise to help inform national transportation policies and practices. Through this role, Dr. Strafaci has committed to supporting the committee’s mission, which includes contributing to collaborative research efforts and volunteer-driven initiatives.

Dr. Strafaci’s appointment reflects his deep experience and leadership in the AEC industry, and we are confident that his insight and commitment will contribute meaningfully to the committee’s ongoing work and to the broader transportation research community.
