South Amboy Ferry Terminal Wins ASCE Central Jersey Project of the Year
On Wednesday evening, French & Parrello Associates’ (FPA) was honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Central Jersey Branch as it recognized the South Amboy Ferry Terminal project with Project of the Year (Large Category). One of three awards the South Amboy Ferry Terminal project has been honored with so far this year, the ASCE honor affirms that the project demonstrates sound engineering design and positively impacts the community, area, or region.
The South Amboy Ferry Terminal Project is a $32 million transformational redevelopment project along the Raritan Bay Waterfront that provides a new transportation alternative for New York City Commuters and relieves existing overly congested surface routes. As the lead designer, FPA provided comprehensive site improvements, including environmental remediation and the construction of waterfront infrastructure, access roadways, curbing, sidewalks, parking facilities, a pavilion structure, landscaping, historical accommodations, and site lighting. Waterfront improvements included the installation of bulkheads, a seawall, and concrete walkways, while additional infrastructure improvements encompassed water, sewer, gas, electric, and communication utilities.
Congratulations to the FPA project team, Colliers Engineering & Design, Kyle Conti Construction, and the City of South Amboy on this well-deserved honor!
