Essex County West Caldwell School of Technology
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) was selected to prepare engineering design and permit plans for the renovation and expansion of the West Caldwell School of Technology for the County of Essex. The approximately 92,000 square foot, project included an expansion of the existing school, including 2nd story addition, and renovation of the existing interior spaces.
An environmental center courtyard was created in order to provide an outdoor multifunctional learning space for students and faculty. It includes an outdoor classroom space with stadium seating, gardens for seasonal plantings, lunchroom seating and a rain garden.
The Environmental Center Courtyard was recognized by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Concrete Institute in Spring 2022. The courtyard project received the 2022 Merit Award in the Decorative Category at the 59th Annual New Jersey Concrete Awards.
