French & Parrello Associates (FPA) provided MEP/FP and Structural Design Engineering and Construction Administration Services for the new school campus in Newark, NJ. FPA utilized Displacement Ventilation Chilled Beam technology for the classroom instructional spaces, providing a quiet and healthy learning environment. The ventilation air was provided by Energy Recovery Ventilation rooftop units providing cost effective operation.

FPA also provided structural engineering design and detailing for the new 73,000 square foot precast concrete parking garage with the roof of the parking garage as a green roof utilized for outdoor school activities with a field turf playing field. The structure utilized a system of precast concrete double T-beams, precast concrete girders, and precast concrete shear walls that provided large open areas and a cost-effective design.
