French & Parrello Associates Promotes Ian Mueller to Manager of Bridges
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is excited to announce the promotion of Ian Mueller, PE, to Manager of Bridges. In this new role, Mr. Mueller will oversee FPA’s Bridge Department, managing a growing portfolio of design, inspection, and rehabilitation projects. He will lead a talented group of engineers that are focused on the delivery of practical, cost-effective, and resilient infrastructure solutions for FPA’s clients.
Mr. Mueller has been a key member of FPA’s Transportation Group for over 10 years, most recently serving as Assistant Manager of Bridges. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Mueller worked at the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) in the Division of Operations Support. There, he played a vital role in contract administration, emergency and priority movable bridge repairs, sign structure maintenance and installations, and development of standard operating procedures and maintenance policies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Mueller has worked on many infrastructure projects for a wide range of public and private clients, including counties, municipalities, transportation agencies, and private developers, including the $22 million replacement of Bridge MA-11 on Aberdeen Road over Matawan Creek. His hands-on involvement in complex bridge, roadway, and site improvement projects has broadened his technical expertise and strengthened his leadership capabilities.
Mr. Mueller earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Widener University, and his Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and Massachusetts and has competed a wide variety of specialized trainings from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and American Concrete Institute (ACI).
